MISSION OF THE CCB
The Charleston Community Band, now in it's thirty-second year of operation, is an entirely volunteer, non-profit civic organization serving the Trident area. It provides an opportunity for adults to perform concert band music after completing their school years. We are conducted by Mr. Todd Jenkins, and our assistant conductor is Mrs. Susan DuPuis.

Membership in the Charleston Community Band is open to proficient brass, woodwind and percussion players beyond high school, and under our mentorship program, to younger musicians. Our mentorship program is part of our committment to music education, and is open to high school musicians.

The band is composed of approximately 75 players from all walks of life who live and work through-out the tri-county area (Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties). We have a number of part-time professional musicians, but most of our members would best be described as dedicated amateurs who enjoy playing good music.

The band plays, on average, fifteen concerts annually for varied audiences and community occassions. Because all concerts are free to the public, we depend on honoria and donations to cover basic expenses.

The Charleston Community Band's concert calendar is available online, and in local printed news media,
